Foundations Christian Preschool helps families nurture their child’s growth and develop a life-long love for learning through imagination, constructive play, and educational Christian programs. As an affordable Christian-based preschool, we have been serving the South Hill/Puyallup/Graham/Frederickson area of Washington State since 2013! Our teachers are seasoned, loving, and patient, with a combined 40+ years of teaching experience. We love Jesus, love people, and find joy in serving the families in our community.
We are now enrolling three and four year olds for the next semester. Five year olds who are not attending
kindergarten are also invited to register. If you have any questions, would like to take a tour of our facilities, or enroll your child, please call the office at (253) 841-4100 or email the preschool administrator, Autumn Cleveland, through the contact form below.
CURRICULUM AT A GLANCE
READING
2 Day Students: Our reading program is phonics-based. The students are taught all of the letters of the alphabet and the phonetic sounds that those letters represent. 3 & 4 Day Students: In addition to learning the letters and phonetic sounds, we also teach the students how to read short words and sentences. We begin reading as soon as we have learned enough vowels and consonants to form a word. We begin a more concentrated reading group in the Spring.
WRITING
Each week a different letter will be featured. Writing is structured for students to learn how to write their name, hold a pencil properly, recognize lower case and capital letters, and focus on basic penmanship. 2 Day Students: Concentrate in simple letter recognition, tracing, and how to write their name. 3 & 4 Day Students: Further concentration in writing their name, as well as tracing and writing independently with proper formation.
ARITHMETIC
As a class, we learn number recognition and how to count to 100. We also teach basic math (addition and subtraction) with numbers 1-10. Additionally, we teach basic shapes, sorting, fine motor skills, and memorize calendar days, months, and seasons.
BIBLE
We teach a 20 minute Bible lesson each day which includes Bible memorization, singing, story/application, and prayer. Lessons focus on the major Bible characters and stories, such as Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Daniel, the Life of Christ, the Apostle Paul, etc. Lessons may include crafts and projects. By the end of the year, students will have memorized up to 26 Bible verses.
DEVELOPING CHARACTER
We are committed to developing godliness of character and action in the lives of the students entrusted to our care. Each month we will focus on a different character trait and in so doing, we teach and encourage students to practice honesty, kindness, thankfulness, obedience, cooperation, patience, attentiveness, self control and respect.

MEET YOUR TEACHERS!
Mrs. Amy Reno
Hi! I am so excited for the opportunity to be your teacher! My husband and I met as young teenagers, fell in love, and were married shortly after college; this past July, we got to celebrate 31 years of marriage! We have three children, Bethany, Christian, and Jordan. Our oldest two are married to their sweethearts and have blessed us with our five sweet grandbabies (plus two on the way!). The only bad part is that they live so far away! Our youngest works in the emergency department of a children’s hospital here in Washington and we love having him nearby. Originally from Superior, Wisconsin, we came to minister in the Northwest in 2002 and my husband has been the Senior Pastor of Berean Baptist Church since 2006. One of our favorite things to do is spend time with our kids and grandkids. We love the Northwest and all of the families we have the opportunity to minister to every week. I can’t imagine a better life than one serving Jesus with my family. I feel so blessed!
I have worked at Foundations Christian Preschool for eleven years, but before working at FCP, I studied Christian education and either worked as a teacher or helped as a teacher’s aide for over ten years in many different Christian school settings. At this point, I’ve seen over 160 precious students graduate from our preschool program. I love my job for all the sweet little ones I get to teach about the love of Jesus.
Miss Autumn Cleveland
Hello! I am so happy to meet you! I was born and raised in Washington State and I love the Northwest! I have many favorite things, but to name a “few”, I love my Bible, my Savior, rain, fireplaces, brick houses, books, animals, coffee, traveling, sushi, and Northwest beaches! God has been so good to allow me to visit most of the US and 14 foreign countries. A couple of my dreams are to visit Scotland and walk the halls of the ancient castles, and to travel to Jerusalem and visit all those special places I’ve read about in the Bible. Being in ministry is a dream come true for me. I have been the Personal Secretary to Pastor Reno for over twelve years, I love my job because I get to serve people and Jesus every day! My favorite person is Jesus, I adore spending time with the people I love, and I have a sweet “fur baby” named Charlie who has completely stolen my heart.
I studied Bible, Missions, and Education at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California. In 2009, I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Bible with an emphasis in Foreign Missions. In 2010, I earned my Masters Degree in Christian Education and have taught for over sixteen years in various Christian School environments. I am the administrator for FCP and love getting the chance to teach in the classroom whenever I’m needed. I love what I get to do and hope I get to serve Jesus every day for the rest of my life!
Mrs. Chanel Goodman
Hello there! It makes me so happy to get to be one of your teachers. I grew up in Washington State in a little town called Wilkeson, where my dad was a police officer. I married my high school sweetheart thirteen years ago, and we have five beautiful children, Sterling, Christine, Seamus, Chloe, and Catherine. We have two fur babies we adore named Tiberius (Tiber) and Téa, and more chickens and kitties than we can count! My husband, Shane, and I run the Wednesday night Master Clubs children’s program at our church and have worked with teens in youth ministry for over thirteen years. I love road trips and have visited 21 of the 50 states and Canada. I enjoy gardening, being outdoors, taking care of my animals, hanging out with my husband, chasing after my kids, and spending time with my friends and extended family. I can’t wait to get to know you better!
I studied Secretarial Science at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California, and received my Associates Degree in 2011. I have served for over thirteen years in various Christian school environments and youth ministries. All four of my older children went through this preschool and my youngest is finishing her last year. I loved this program for my kids so much that I became a teacher and this will be my fifth year teaching at Foundations. I love what I get to do!
